I guess we should all have low standards and buy D3100 and just be happy. you really should keep your criticisms about what others demand of their gear to yourself. if anyone pays that much for a camera and accepts that it will fail in critical situations (weddings) when your skill is there but the camera cannot deliver its side and they think its acceptable, that person is just a sucker. simple as that. but then again, how many here rely on their gear in critical situations. so only a working pro would agree. all the hobbyists/enthusiasts dont see an issue. </p><p></p><p>-$2300 in this economy is a ton of money. pros buy it so they can make a living. $2300 is more than what I payed for each of my 3 flagship nikon F5. you didnt even pay$500 for a camera and youre criticizing others? who the heck are you to tell others they feel entitled to a perfectly working camera? there are tolerances to equipment thats manufactured. not in the numbers nikon has been hitting. their QC is crap. did you forget the D800 af issue, the 24-70 zoom stiffness, the Sb900 overheat issue? those piece of gear costs tons of money and if I bought those, yea, you bet your ass I feel entitled that it works flawlessly. </p><p></p><p>-regarding your phone. if I payed $800 for a phone and accepted its problems, I would be a sucker. I dont accept defects in elite products. extreme RARE cases are fine. but im certain without a doubt the company would replace it with no issues. unlike the deceitful nikon who denied issues with the D750 and D600 and only after the media and threats of class act lawsuits did they announce they would recall. they didnt do it out of their free will.
