D7100 Rear Display

I recently purchased a used D7100 and after I have taken a photo it does not come up on the rear display. Only when I push the playback button can I see the photo. I did not get a manual and have searched online to see if there is a setting somewhere that I am missing. I also have a D600 so I am somewhat familiar with the set up on this camera. This happens with any of my Nikon lenses.

Turn 'image review' ON in the playback menu options.

I just recently came across that when going through the D500 manual and remembered that it is the same on the D7100.
