D7100 on CH won't take multiple photos with button held down

I have messed something up probably. I am new at all this. I love to take photos of coastal birds and I used to be able to put my camera on auto and CH and when I kept my finger depressed on the shooting button it would take multiple images. I can't seem to get it to do that any more and when I press the button there is a lag time for just taking one image...help. I do not know manual settings yet, but I used to do real well in auto. Thanks.

It sounds like your in AF-S as opposed to AF-C. If your AF-S is set to only take the image once focus is acquired, it will take time to focus and take a single image as opposed to AF-C where you can take multiple images when the shutter is depressed no matter if focus is attained or not.

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72ppi (Pixels Per Inch)

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.


Please post the resolution in case someone else has the same problem.
