My simple advice: if you can score a deal on the '7100 with the 18-140mm by all means do so. But... Don't feel like you'll be screwing yourself getting the D7100 with the 18-105mm either. An extra 35mm of zoom is a "nice to have" but dude... Let's be clear: You're going from a D3000 to the D7100; don't ruin that by sweating details. The '7100 is going to blow you away, and either of those lenses will rock the '7100.</blockquote>
