This may come too late, but: I weighed out the same purchase for months, and with all that time, and all the research... I just couldn't settle with buying the D7000 when the D7100 meant just a small bit of time more spent squirreling away some funds. Yes, the differences between the two added up to me waiting a bit, and every time I'd see a D7000 for sale within my range, I'd research those differences again and talk myself into waiting. Just a couple more months... Just one more month... Just a couple more weeks... MAN, WHERE IS THAT DELIVERY TRUCK!? Ahhh... hello, my Primal Beast. How I've been looking forward to this day! Yup, I think that pretty much sums it up. I honestly think that if you bought the D7000 now, you'd be constantly dealing with those "what if" moments, and it's just not worth it. Not once, though, since getting the D7100 have I ever paused to think, "Gee, maybe I should have gotten the D7000 instead". Of course, that's just my .02, which when factored into the supply/demand ratio and magnified by the imperial fluff factor, is really worth about .0000000000169. Values may change by the moment.
