Here's a true story. Our company only used Canon. We were contracted to go up to the Congo for a large mining company. With it being a professional shoot we always go with 2 cameras. At the time, due to other commitments, we only had one 5D available and the 7D's were also out. We've always had a few Nikon primes floating around the office and the D7000 was the only camera we could get our hands on in the short amount of time. By the end of the 10 day shoot in the Congo I was a complete Nikon convert and especially a fan of the D7000. I still think it's one of those special cameras that they got completely right, no flaws, tough as nails and produces beautiful photographs. Seeing what the prices are like for the D7000 at the moment, I wouldn't hesitate farting around asking too many questions on forums and I'd get my arse into a camera store, buy the camera and get out there and start taking some photos. What ever you decide, enjoy the experience.
