Looking for a simple bag/cover for my D7000 and lens (18-55 kit lens or 35mm). Just for traveling and storage when not in use. Either a small messenger bag or something like the crumbler haven.

Thanks for any ideas.

I found several on eBay that match that, if you use eBay the just search for "D7000". I was looking for something else but noticed this type of bag.

You might like to check out the LowePro line. That make great bags. The one thing I would suggest is that you plan ahead a little and get one large enough to hold and extra lens and maybe a flash.

I recently got the Lowepro - Fastpack 250 and have been very happy with it. I have my D5100 and three lenses and a Sb-700 Flash in it. Almost Wish I had gotten the next size up.

If you are looking for something very inexpensive, check ebay as someone already mentioned. I have a couple from ebay and they are great for a cheap bag. They are not heavily padded, about 1/4" thick, but provide some protection from knocks. I have the ones that say 'Nikon' with a 'D' underneath. Unauthorized, I'm sure. I don't really care for the labeling and cover it with black tape. They are about $8 or $9 and shipped from China so it takes a couple weeks. I have better bags for when I need protection but these are good around the house or going to my kid's games. They are not too bulky, so you could throw one into a backpack or suitcase if you needed to. They have a removable neck strap, a little top carry handle and two small side pockets. Belt loop too, but that would be kind of awkward.

If you're after something inexpensive, check out the Case Logic brand as well. I bought this as my first DSLR camera bag: Amazon.com: Case Logic SLRC-202 Medium SLR Camera Bag (Black): Camera & Photo and still find myself grabbing it from time to time when I don't want to use the backpack. It fits my D7000 with the 18-105 lens with no issues, and there's room in the side pockets for another lens of similar size. I don't expect it to last for decades, but for $31 it's pretty good. It's been on several weekend trips and a deployment with no issues.

Why buy an SLR if you try shoving everything in your pocket?

Regardless, just looking for a modular case that can be inserted into a backpack, messenger bag, or sat behind the front seat in the car. Something flexible and light weight.

camera and lens with SB 400 ..... filters in one pocket . spare chip and AA batteries in another and the shoot list ....what else do you want ..no bags boxes cases extra lens or tripod .....what more do you want...

...for traveling and storage when not in use.

Lets take a step back to the OP and note what they want - something to store said equipment when not in use.

Though of course if you have a rocket blower in your pocket...
Is that a rocket in your pocket or you just happy to be photographing? ;)
