I don't know what two thirds of the buttons and about 75% of the menu items do and honestly, I don't give a flip because I don't have any autofocus lenses and I essentially never use any kind of automation. My D700 stays in manual 99.9% of the time and I use the camera's meter less than 10% of the time. About the same amount I use(d) the F2's meter. If automation works for you that's great, whatever helps you take better photos, but it is not for me. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.</blockquote>
