Here is my story. I do not have excessive sensor dust/oil issue with my D600 (over 7000 shots). Of that 7000 shots about 5000 was to check the sensor (too paranoid for these so called sensor oils/dust problems). My D600 only had about a total of 20 spots over 7000 clicks. I wet cleaned the sensor twice. Decided to use this advisory to get a clean sensor and new shutter mechanism. Dropped off my camera February 26 at UPS Store. Delivered to Nikon Melville on February 28. Nikon Services log March 3. in "shop" status from March 4 to March 6, in "billing" status from March 6 to March 10, shipped out March 10. UPS delivered March 12. Therefore, it is a total of 14 days turn-around including two weekends. According to the repair invoice: RPL shutter mechanism CKD AF system CLN image sensor CKD AE operation CKD Aperature operation CDK Flash operation General check & clean I did test shot at f20 and there is an additional 2 spots after 70 shots but were not at the left upper corner. The shutter count indicated the the new shutter had 1064 shots when I received mine - must test shots by NIkon after shutter replacement.
