Let me know. So really the only bad news is you would temporarily take a step back from your D500...not a step away from DX altogether. The only stipulation is you'd need to return it with the back button focus turned off as I don't use that and wouldn't know how to revert to my settings for triggering the shutter. :beguiled:
Let me know if you'd like to meet up somewhere around Princeton--you can borrow my D7100 until a D500 becomes available. Never installed any firmware. The body has one of the Easy Cover silicone skins on it which can be removed--and I'm not worried about my D7100 getting some serious use. It has a pretty low shutter count because I only used it for the drama productions and once or twice during worship. Don't care for the noise in low light--hence my decision to buy a teleconverter to be used with my FX bodies during worship. Surprisingly I need to use ISO 1600 or higher during worship so my D750 and D610 perform much better. If I want to use the teleconverter with DX outside, I still have my D90. ;) This shutter count might have been from the last photo taken. The number of shutter clicks you'd put on it isn't a concern because I know it may be a while before any D500's are available--and I know we are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to shutter counts. Let me know. So really the only bad news is you would temporarily take a step back from your D500...not a step away from DX altogether. The only stipulation is you'd need to return it with the back button focus turned off as I don't use that and wouldn't know how to revert to my settings for triggering the shutter. :beguiled:
