She's been using my Nikon 1 mirrorless but it only has the one lens. If she uses the D40x, she can use some of my DX lenses and start playing around with it more. The camera is free, so why not take advantage of it. I was looking at buying her a D3300 or D5200, LOL but now I can buy a new lens for my camera instead of a new camera.
