Nikon has fixed some issues with this firmware update for the D4:

When a still image was captured while viewing existing images in playback mode, the monitor turned off, the memory card access lamp glowed steadily, and, in some rare cases, the camera ceased to respond to operations. This issue has been resolved.
When network functions were used with certain settings applied, RAW images were also transferred whenNetwork>Send file as was set to JPEG only. This issue has been resolved.
When an option that utilized the main command dial was selected for Custom Setting f15: Playback zoom, and an image was zoomed in or out with playback with certain settings applied, shooting shutter speed, aperture, and exposure compensation settings were sometimes changed. This issue has been resolved.
Here's how to do the update: Power the camera from AC adapter unit or use a fully charged battery.

Create a new folder with an appropriate name on your computer's hard drive.
Download the Windows (.EXE) or Macintosh (.DMG) file from the links at the bottom of this page to the folder created in step 1.
Run the downloaded file to create a folder called D4Update which contains the firmware D4__0101.bin file.
Use a card reader or similar device to copy the D4__0101.bin file to the root directory of a formatted memory card.
Insert the memory card into the camera's primary memory card slot and turn on the camera.
Select Network from the setup menu and be sure that Network connection is set to OFF.
Select Firmware version from the camera's setup menu and follow instructions displayed to upgrade the firmware.
After the upgrade is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
Access the Firmware version item in the camera's setup menu to confirm that the firmware has been upgraded.
Download the files: Windows: http://crossgate.nikonimglib.com/dsd_redirect/redirect.do?P=VVpNs07&R=AyLwd34&L=zkjEs00&O=GHUp600 Mac: http://crossgate.nikonimglib.com/dsd_redirect/redirect.do?P=EtfT908&R=Lgzvy34&L=eVqAD00&O=zAF8Q00
