In the Auto modes (A, S, and P), if one is selected, the others will be automatically set. In Manual Mode, YOU make all the settings. It's all in your manual. Read through it at your leisure and it will become clearer as you progress. Learning it all won't happen overnight. There's a learning curve to this, so take your time, read, learn and practice.
