Did you see FredKingston 2 remarks? Looks like you can't turn the information on or off, short of breaking the camera (and you really don't want to do that!)

Yes. Fred said he didn't have a 3200. I have a 3400, which is the same basic camera, and I was confirming that it doesn't have a means of turning off the display.
