Hi and here I have an interesting question I started foolling with an ftn back in the 70's and was sorta fair at it. Life came along an things went astray recently I bought a D200 mainly because I could us my old non- AI lens(s) setting up with my little 50mm or my small sigma 35-85 zoom works like a charm. BUT I recently required my old Soligar 300 from my daughter here is the issue …when I set it up the light meter does not work at all as the others do. Does anyone have any insights?? Thanks in advance!!

Simply saying 'Soligar 300' is not enough. You need a model number to get even a reasonable answer. First guess is, you don't have the aperture on the lens set correctly for the Nikon body...
