CPL filter, before and after.

Just got a Cpl filter, One from the local camera shop, nothing expensive, but does the job.

So this morning I went out for a few test shots, not the best day as it was quite overcast. these shot are more or less out of the camera(shot in RAW)
opened in lightroom to convert to jpeg.

That's a CPL alright.

I rarely leave the house without one on my glass. There's a LOT of reflective light out there, even in the most mundane shooting conditions, that we're just not aware of because it's how we're used to seeing things. Once you remove it from your photos, however, the effect can be anywhere from dramatic, like your examples demonstrate, to subtle; but the effect is almost always there. By removing less extreme reflective light I find a CPL gently enhances color saturation and improves contrast. I don't like shooting outdoors without one.

My 18-55 is my designated CPL/ND filter lens. It's always in my bag with the filters attached at the ready. You never know when a waterfall is going to jump out at you.

When I purchased my D750 kit, I also threw a CPL & ND filter in for the kit lens. I feel like you should never leave home without those two filters!

Great example shots @paul04, the CPL really makes the difference.
