I think you will be surprised! Particularly since it will also work very well with any of Nikon's previous auto focus lenses which are sometimes cheaply bought and some are excellent performers. Congrats!

I got my D90 with a low shutter count, 18-55mm ED DX lens and the 55-200mm DX VR lens for just over $400. I thought it to be a good price.

That sounds like a great price! I got mine for $325.00 but with no lenses and about 25k actuations! Way to go Mike! :D

It´s a great price! Here, on the cold, they ask a bit more and nothing like that set... A few with the 50 1.8 (which I´m considering) and some with the 18-105 kit, but I´m still looking...

Oooops. . . . now that you mentioned it mine also came with the 50mm standard lens. I also sold it along with the other two and got other lenses.

First impressions on the D90... So much more control!!! The ISO increments are great, the front dial is such a great help, and it feels so much better in my hands... Tomorrow I´ll give her a real try, today I just got a few shots inside the Starbucks were I met the guy... So far, very pleased...

It is a great camera! I fondled the D5100 and the D90 before I made up my mind. And I just loved the user interface of the D90. And being able to glace at the top screen while in the woods is great. It gives me a great jump on getting set up. I can take in the info and then quickly get my settings roughly dialed in without bringing the camera to my eye.

Some more considerations... I´ve always wondered WTH wouldn´t I get the facial expressions I was looking for (on the 3100); Now I understand why: the shutter delay!!! Now I get what I shoot for. Focus accuracy, always dead on. Focus speed, 1000 times faster ;) even with an old Tamron 28-70, let alone the 50mm... I am so glad I moved backwards... :p
