cotton carrier

Looks like a decent strap, first I've seen that model.

You bring up an interesting topic, while I was searching for a sling strap alternative online, I saw very few mentions of security. While the Sun Sniper has a steel alternative and Black Rapid offers their PROTECTR, has anyone ever had someone attempt to steal their gear while it's around their neck?

I don't know if there is a huge problem with camera theft in crowds but all it would take would be one snip with a sharp knife and the camera is gone. Just like no one expects to get into a car accident but insurance is something that you want just in case you do. Just added protection. This is the reason that I went with the cotton carrier. It is up on my chest in view and close to grab for that shot and it twist locks into place. I can also protect it from the elements better from this location. It is a well thought out piece of gear designed in Vancouver BC with the west coast ( wet coast) photographer in mind and you know if it works here it will work anywhere lol. Still when your spending what we do on gear is it worth it for a little piece of mind to not protect your investment?

Not much different than a conventional strap.

I guess in the rare instance that would happen to me, id much rather have the strap cut then have a blade end up in my back or side :)

To each their own.

I think we are getting a little off topic here. The design is a solid idea and if a crook wants to kill you for your camera he / she ( political correctness of this sentence) will. Now lets move on.

I have a Cotton Carrier and a Rapid Strap. Both have their uses. I use the CC mostly for my D700 and 150-500 Siggy when hiking. The Strap simply does not cut it with this amount of weight. The CC is a well thought bit of kit. Works exactly as its supposed to. I got mine off the big auction site a fair bit cheaper than the CC site.
