Connecting D5300 to Macbook for video feed

Hello!

I'm trying to figure out how send a live video feed from my d5300 to my macbook pro.
Ultimately, I want to send the live video to a projector.

I tried getting Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, but it can't detect the camera listed as a device.

Has anybody had any luck with this?

Thanks,
Marshall

No, I can't get QuickTime to recognize the camera. I tried another software program as well: CamCamX, but that can't recognize the camera either. Image Capture does recognize the camera.
I have it plugged in from the A/V out to USB.

Okay, I have a workable, but less-than-ideal solution.
Using tethering software. Forr this camera: Nikon Camera Control Pro 2, or Helicon Remote.
Neither is free, I think $150/75 each, but trying for 30 days.
Only problem is that I can't get the image to be a true full screen. CC2 only shows a tiny window that can't be increased. Helicon Remote's app occupies the whole screen, but I can't figure out how to show just the image.

As a workaround, I can use the Accessibility features of the Mac to be able to zoom in, which will probably work for my needs, but is hard to use if I need to change anything.

What about using your HDMI output to the Mac? You would have a video feed that should be full screen, at least on a projector or monitor.

I can't plug HDMI into my Mac, but maybe I can go directly from the camera to the projector! I didn't think about this since I don't have the cable. I always assumed this was just for playback of images, didn't know if you get a live feed this way or not. We'll see. Thanks for the idea!

Got the HDMI cord, but when plugged into the projector, only gives me the option to review photos/videos already taken, not a live view.
However, I was able to plug in the RCA cords (that came with the camera), just the yellow cord straight to the projector, and that was able to give me a live feed, and bypasses using the MacBook. Success!

I didn't chime in on this, because I really didn't have any good suggestions. Glad you got it worked out with a solution.
