Message: <blockquote data-quote="skater" data-source="post: 416786" data-attributes="member: 19158">Using reply with quote makes it a LOT easier to see who you are responding to - you've probably seen some threads where there are multiple discussions going on, and it can get very hard to keep track of who said what.  For example, it's very obvious here that I am responding to your question.  If I hadn't quoted you, it's much less clear whether I was responding to you, or to something WayneF said, or to just my own random thoughts.  If you think about it, it's how conversations usually work in real life - you say something, then I respond to it, then you respond to that, etc.  Here, we have a time lag, though, so the reply with quote helps keep things clear.</blockquote>
