Conflicting reports - Can AF lens autofocus on 5100?

Nikon SLR Camera and Lens Compatibility

According to this chart, AF lenses will still autofocus, but all the reviews that I've read say that I need an AF-S lens. Can anyone clarify this for me? thank you.

But no, AF lenses will not AF with the D5100 - you need a focus motor in the body, like with the D90, D7000, or D7100 or >

No prob - depending on your price range and if you want video or not, I would definitely consider the cameras I mentioned above - the D7100 being the newest and most expensive and the D90 being the oldest and cheapest at this point.

I just looked at the chart and I think you may have mis-read it. It says AF lenses are MF for the D5100.
