[QUOTE="Clovishound, post: 847106, member: 50197"] Finally made it out to Magnolia this weekend. I've been making do with backyard photography while my wife heals from her fall and surgery back in June. At first I thought it was going to be a bust. Only one duck in the swamp, and all the nesting birds have flown the coop. Went down to the large retention pond and it was nearly deserted. Finally saw a skimmer working down the channel. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot a skimmer, so I was pleased to get a number of shots. Nothing worth notifying Nat Geo about, but glad to get them. Humidity was brutal, and decided to leave early, but on the way out I stopped by the small "secret garden" and it had lots of hummers feeding on the bushes. Managed to get a few OK shots, but the lighting was rather harsh.
