It was named by the Cherokee as Oklawaha which meant slow moving muddy water much farther up steam in Northern North Carolina, the settlers called it Mud Creek because they couldn't pronounce the Cherokee name. I guess by the time it reaches this area the muddiness is filtered out.

We have a small chapel nearby that is called Pompion Hill Chapel. It was undoubtedly named by the French Huguenots that lived in the area. It is officially pronounced as "Punkin" Hill Chapel. Go figure.

I wish we had some waterfalls in our area. Still, there is always something good to photograph in every area.

BTW what shutter speed did you use for the waterfall pictures? The EXIF data doesn't include any exposure info.

Both at 1.6 sec. One of the editors I'm using must be blocking the info have to check that.
I have about 150 or so waterfalls to go explore after moving to the area recently.
I think I found the metadata issue, It wasn't selected in the Capture 1 export dialog.
