i currently have a small Lowepro bag that is big enough to hold my D5100 (w/lens attached), a lens pen, extra battery, a few extra memory cards (in plastic cases) and remote control. what i want to get either now or eventually are an 18-200mm zoom lens, 3 filters (polarizing, etc), tulip lens hood, extra lens cap. these new things will not fit in the current bag since its pretty full as it is so question - should i buy a much bigger bag big enough to hold everything and toss the old bag aside or keep the old and buy an extra smaller bag big enough to fit just the extra stuff? i'm inclined to not waste the old bag but was curious as to what you thought. i figure its a trade off as far as total weight.

I have two bags that are in use at all times:

Bag A: Holds absolutely everything but the kitchen sink and has a little room left over.
Bag B: This is my grab and go bag. It holds the bare essentials with a little room left over.

I always like having a little room left over in a camera bag, but not a whole lot. I also don't like hauling every piece of gear I have, everywhere I go, but sometimes you have to; that's Bag A. 95% of the time I can get by with one lens (two tops), a spare card, spare battery and a filter or two and that's Bag B.

I've given up on finding the perfect camera bag. I've got several here of various sizes that I accumulated over the years. One bag has nearly everything and I just pack a smaller bag of the appropriate size/style for what I'm doing. No need to show up with a foot locker everywhere I go.

I'm thinking about finding separate pouches for certain things like charger/batteries and cleaning supplies so I can have a more organized grab and go.
