Last night I was checking out some shots I had taken earlier and seeing which ones I wanted to PP. They were shots using the 70-300mm lense and I had a few of weeds with water droplets shining in the sun. I couldn't seem to figure where I wanted to crop them for the best focus on the drops. I then had an idea to turn on the focus point indicator. Nothing showed up. I then tried it with some different shots taken during the same time frame. Some had the focus point show up and some didn't. I think I may possibly know why, but I am opening this up to see if someone knows for sure. One of my theories, yet to be tested, is that I set the focus for the shot (Locked) and then moved the camera off to get a little different perspective. This was done intentionally as I was testing DOF and composition. I am thinking that the shots that I focused/locked, but never moved the camera left or right are the ones with the focus point registering in Capture NX-D. Thoughts??
