can't download photos from eyefi card

I'm having a really strange issue with one of my SD cards. I can view all the .nef files on the card with the regular image viewer, but when I try to download the files, I get errors. I tried doing so in lightroom and with windows with the same results. I did a scan of the file system on the card and everything came up okay. The write protection on the card is not 'on'.

Any ideas?

I would try copying the files to another folder in your computer and then see what can be done. It very well could be either a card reader problem or just the card reader's cord (sorry if I forgot the proper name for it) connectors gone bad. Try copying and hopefully things would work. Do you also have jpeg copies?

Sounds funny, but drivers do get confused with windows, try rebooting your computer.

Or stick a second card in the camera and copy from one card to another and then see if it will read from that card. At least you can try and pinpoint if it's the card or the reader.

That's part of the prob. I can't copy the files the card anywhere.

I don't think it's drivers either. I have rebooted since.

Did I mention this is with an eyefi card which has it's own card reader? It doesn't work at all in a regular reader although I'm sure that it worked before.

I just thought of something though. I have the select transfer mode on. I wonder if that affects direct transfer off files too.

That's a good idea too. It's just strange that I can view the files but not copy.

Not sure, I dont think I have transferred photos from my eye-Fi using the card reader, just did them wirelessly.

Have you tried to connect your camera to the computer to transfer the files? If not, give that a try.

If these earlier suggestions don't work, try a different computer. I had an SD card that would perform just fine in the camera, but wouldn't download to any of our PCs (1 desktop, two laptops), so I tried the MacBook and it worked just fine.

Even if that works, I'd be reluctant to use that card again for any photography.
