Canon to nikon adapter?

Just curious. I dug out some of our old camera stuff from years ago. Found several lenses, but a couple in particular made me wonder if they could work in the D3200. Mostly interested in fitting a Sigma 600mm mirror lens.

It it may be easier to just sell off all the old stuff and fund a single good lens purchase. Just wondering if anyone had used a particular adapter successfully.

Thanks in advance.

In order to maintain infinity focus, it would need optics in it due to the differences in the size of the mount as well as the flange-to-sensor distances. And you'll probably spend half as much on a decent adapter as you would a Siggy 600mm F-mount mirror lens.

No can do. Nikon's distance from the focal point of the lenses to the sensor is longer than Canon. So, you can buy an adapter for nikon lens to work on Canon, but the opposite doesn't work. Sell it.

Thank you, gentlemen. As I suspected. :-|

On to the selling block they all go. Might make enough on the lot of them for one new lens. Definitely better than a bunch of dust collecting paperweights. :)

Well if it's a mirror lens did you check to see if it has a T mount on it? If so, then you would only need to replace the mount to a Nikon.

Canon has shorter flange distance, so Canon lenses cannot be mounted on Nikon, but Nikon lense can be mounted on Canon.

If the mirror lense has a T mount, or if the mount for Canon is a separate piece, screwed on (as is the case with most third party lenses), then you can take the Canon mount off and attach the Nikon F mount. I think that selling off the lense and getting a similar one in Nikon mount may be a cheaper option for you. Just check on e-bay.
