While shooting at the Osprey's nest today, there was a lady there with a Canon and a huge lens. I walked up and struck up a conversation. I asked if that was a 600mm f/4 lens and it turned out that I was right. Also turned out that she was a very nice lady and asked if I would like to take a few shots, since she probably noticed the drool coming out of my mouth..:) I respectfully declined, since I don't like to touch anyone else's stuff, especially one that costs around 12,000 dollars, but I did look through the viewfinder. She had a 1.4TC on it, connected to a 7D MKII (crop sensor). That is 1350mm f/5.6 on a full frame, if my calculation is correct. She had it on a tripod with a Gimbal head. The lens itself weighs 8 pounds and other than that it's white, it's a thing of beauty. I stayed and we talked for a good half hour. The best thing about it was, that not once she or I ever brought up the Nikon vs Canon debate. We just talked about settings and stuff and our mutual love for photography.
