Can the display screen be set to not turn on when changing ISO with fn

I did stumbled upon a beneficial side effect when the shutter button is pressed half way, it will inhibit the display from turning on. So as long as I half press and hold the shutter button, followed by pressing the fn button and using the exposure compensation dial to tune in the ISO value I desire. Then release the fn button before taking the shot or releasing the shutter button, results in me not being temporarily partially blinded by the LCD.
