I would give this product a 5 star review, were it not for the protective case needed to mount the lens. I don't have a problem with a case-based mount, conceptually, but it is very, very difficult to remove the case when I'm done with the lens. I decided to just leave the case on, though I don't think it offers that much protection, and I miss using the case I purchased for the phone.
BUT - that out of the way, this is just a really cool lens system, even more so because it is so affordable. I love the tripod, with or without the lens. It takes a sharp picture, and after using big old SLRs for years, I am amazed at the quality I can get from a phone.
I'm still monkeying with this, but it seems you can (depending on what you're trying to do) use the touch screen on your phone to focus, and if that doesn't give you the results you want, the lens is manual focus, allowing you to override the phone.
