I was using that camera because the bulk of my D700 and 24-70 2.8 was just too much for these events, especially when I am there working as well as shooting. I was thinking that a prime in the 24mm or 28mm range would be ideal in terms of range and size. In reading on the internet, the 28mm 2.8D Nikon is a fairly cheaply made lens, with fairly average results, but the 24mm 2.8 D is a different animal. Optically very solid, really compact, and much cheaper than the brighter, newer versions. I think I will give the 24mm 2.8 a try, new they are near $400 but used you can get them for around $250, which is in the OPs budget.</p></blockquote><p></p>
