Browser help please

For years now i have happily used firefox so i loaded it onto the new windows 8 machine,problems are starting though in two areas.First i cant watch youtube it says a problem has occurred,then if i go to my flickr album half my pictures load and then it just sits there saying fetching pictures.
I gave IE a try and every thing works great with that but i need a spill chucker :D,i don't fully understand the set up but it looks like this default is IE,MSN and Bing search bar,can some one tell me how to include a spell checker on this.
I have the latest version of firefox downloaded and the latest player,the only add on i have is the spell checker.

Interesting,i have deleted and reloaded fire fox,restarted my system you tube came up with a box saying the adobe flash player had crashed send report,i did this then clicked retry and it worked,my flickr page still will not load fully, it sits there saying fetching more pictures.

Do you have flash installed?
You see how soon you start facing nonsense from Windows? :p
Rather rename it WinWoes

Go here - Mozilla Plugins page
and install those necessary plugins

EDITed to add- you need to have your Flash & Java installed & up-to date along with QuickTime (if in case the plugins page doesn't show you)

Thanks going with chrome for now,would rather be taking pictures :D will try to sort it later.
