Anyone tried this quick mod with their Black Rapid strap?

I have the type of black rapid strap that the guy was describing, but I haven't tried the modification he recommends. I'm a little concerned that it would pull the strap into my neck too much, and drive me crazy rubbing my neck raw.

I haven't tried but can relate to it falling off my shoulder. Its annoying.

PS. If you were able to add a extra strap going to the other side, it might be OK. Then it would keep the shoulder pad from rubbing and from slipping of the shoulder at times.
