You loosen the lock knob and move by hand. Both lenses are manual lenses no AF. Both lenses can tilt and shift, but the TT is limited physically internally to about 6mm shift / tilt at same time, or full tilt and about 5 shift, full shift about 3 tilt (either direction). The Nikon will go full tilt, and shift mechanically. Build wise the TT is heavier. The Nikon's MF ring is 3 times wider than the TT ring. The Nikon goes to f/32 where the TT stops at f/16. Both lenses will rotate so you could reverse your tilt / shift axis, or points in-between. This is one improvement the TT has over the Nikon. Nikon you have to lift up a small lever sticking out the side to release it. The TT you just push in a button, much easier than on the Nikon. For the price paid I am very happy with it. Will need to get outside to see which one if either has a picture quality advantage.
