[QUOTE="bobmielke, post: 45356, member: 8952"] One of my hobbies in retirement is photography. I have a wealth of opportunities since I live in the Pacific Northwest. I consider this one of the most greatest areas of our country for natural outdoor beauty. Within a 50 mile radius of Portland I have hundreds of miles of pristine beaches, mountain ranges, forests, the Columbia Gorge and high desert in Hood River & further West in Pendleton, OR. Within 10 miles of my apartment house I can find the Portland Zoo, The Portland Japanese & Chinese Garden and the Portland Rose Gardens. There are flower festivals everywhere as Oregon is one of the largest commercial growers of trees, bushes & flowers in the United States. I am particularly entranced with the zoo. I love all the animals but must admit it's the big cats that intrigue me the most. With my yearly membership in hand I can go to the zoo 7 days a week for free.
