I did have a benbo tripod that came with it but it got left at a mates house in Perth, it was of Aluminium construction and very very sturdy.Looks to be an original benbo not a later inferior one,i still use an original benbo tripod,my guess is it wasnt for video as there main interest at that time was stills.does have an exceptionally smooth pan which may indicate video.
I have had the benbo for years and only just thought of posting it here, but I agree the ball head works nicely. The thing is if I clean the Benbo up is it worth keeping? As it is very smooth and easy to use.If it was me, I would skip it. The 1/4 inch tripod screw appears corroded and possibly stripped. This might get stuck with the camera and might strip the thread inside your camera. You have a much nicer ballhead to work with.
