Beach/sunset pictures

So the fiancée and I went to the beach the other day scouring potential wedding locations and I thought it was a good excuse to take some snaps with my favourite toy!

Be interested to get your thoughts. Don't hold back I need more ammunition for £££ to spend :p

Yeh I was gutted when I saw the dog one full size.

Unfortunately I like to force myself to learn by shooting as much as I can on M which meant I didn't have time to set up properly.

What sort of PP would you suggest? Feel free to edit and repost if that's easier.

I have PS CS2 as far as editing software goes - would love to have the most up to date version but £50/month is about £45/month more than I want to be paying!

I can almost enjoy the overexposed sunset pics, as it adds a bit of "summer" to the feel... and I need that while I suffer through the first snow and single digit temps of the year. ;)

All of the pics feel slightly askew, though, so maybe some cropping, straightening, etc. For future reference, it's cool to underexpose sunrises and sunsets by 1 or 2 stops and nab some of the more striking colors that are out there. You can always increase the exposure PP, and it's much easier than decreasing it.

And, BTW, there's a PS/LR CC photographer's bundle that's currently only 10/month at Adobe. They extended their special... :)

In the third shot the point of focus is off for me. I would rather have seen the foreground out of focus and the background in focus or have to aperture stopped down to bring the whole shot in focus. The big clump of rocks in the foreground detract as well as they aren't particularly interesting.

Hi all.

Thanks for the feedback. I have since invested in the photographers cc subscription and done some editing to try and bring out the redness of the sunset.

Unfortunately there are some blown out bits but I think they can work well to emphasise the suns brightness.

Anyway you can have a look here at my behance portfolio the gallery is very limited at the minute as I haven't had much time to set the site up yet.

Also I was thinking about offering them and eventually others for sale. Price wise I was thinking £2.50/$4 for a medium res version (5-6MP) and £4/$6.50 for full size (16MP). How would that compare with what you guys would charge - if you sell yours that is?

Excuse the essay!

Thanks :)
