Message: <blockquote data-quote="Eyelight" data-source="post: 429050" data-attributes="member: 24753">Well.  VR is actually quite useful for stabilizing the image and helping keep the focus point on a small subject well before the shot.  Not to mention, engaging VR for a moment before shooting can theoretically improve the result by providing more info to the VR system.  Just to be clear though, I'm not saying that VR should be used at higher shutter speeds.  Just pointing out that the shutter mechanism takes longer to move and make the exposure than a shutter speed of 1/1000 or even 1/250 and even slower on some cameras.  And that the VR sampling is always faster than a mechanical focal plane shutter can move.I feel the need to start a new thread.</blockquote>
