Message: <blockquote data-quote="PapaST" data-source="post: 86274" data-attributes="member: 8330">Both the battery tray and plug interface have rubber seals for weather proofing.  I suspect the overal build is made to the same "weather proofing" specs as the D600 itself so no loss there.As for tripod use.  I mounted my Manfrotto quickplate onto my heaviest D600 setup with grip, heavy zoom, speedlight 910.  I never noticed any play between grip and camera and I contorted that camera all sorts of different ways.  The connection to the grip (aside from the interface connector) has two static posts plus the standard camera mount bolt.  I doubt you'll get any play from just the shear weight of the camera on a tripod.</blockquote>
