Bags!

Looking for a bit of advice please.

I need a new carry around bag for my new camera (D800) and the 28-300 nikon zoom. That in itself is probably relatively easy, however, I dont want the bag to be too big, nor do I want it to scream out "expensive camera inside"... I would prefer it to look like a ladies shoulder bag if possible. When I go out and about, I dont really want to attract unwanted attention.

My old bag was a Lowepro, and was a Rezo 140, but it was a little tired, and has gone with the D5100 to my daughter.

Camera shops dont seem to stock many bags, so its difficult to see/try them out... so has anyone got any recommendations or even brands to avoid.

Many thanks
T :)

Lowepro is always one to look at. I know there are several styles for women on BH, try the link below.

Error

No clue why the link is doing that, but it still works. Its just a search for women's camera bags.

Hi Tracey

I am also looking around for bags, but have probably plonked for a backback - unless someone can talk me out of it!

A couple suggestions, Lowepro of course - you may be able to find something that doesn't scream camera: Lowepro | Camera bags, backpacks, and rolling cases to protect and carry photographic and digital devices

Also how about Billingham, very well made British bags. Mine has lasted from my old semi-pro days & still looks nearly new: Home page

Lastly Crumpler. I have one of these for my laptop. It doesn't scream gadget & is well made. The image is more of a student's bag than camera. They do make some good camera bags though: Camera bags by Crumpler

Thanks Gorf, I have a crumpler bag, and a larger Lowepro, but they just dont "carry" well. I use them to store flashes lenses filters etc. So disappointed the Crumpler doesnt carry well without slipping because it really doesnt look like a camera bag at all.
Sometimes I wish I could get the old style "ever ready" cases like the old style SLRs used to "wear"... :) but thats not going to "hide" the fact I am carrying a camera
