My son's high school band just received an invitation to participate in the 2017 Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, California, including marching in the parade on New Years Day of 2017. I'm still waiting on how much it is going to cost for the trip, but since there will be three of us attending, "it ain't going to be cheap!" So it appears as though me getting a new D750 is going to have to wait even longer, but it will be worth it to see my youngest child participate in a major event like this. He will join his two sisters, one of whom participated in the 2008 Tournament of Roses, and the other who marched in the 2012 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. I made the first trip in 2008, but was unable to go on the 2012 trip. It was the 2008 trip that really convinced my wife that a digital camera was a good idea; after film and processing cost us over $400 for the trip! WM
