Interesting.
In New Zealand (and South Africa) a baby shower is where all the girlfriends meet prior to the birth and bestow useful gifts on mum-to-be to ease the financial burden of everything that has to be bought.

Well what did some of you think you would find? LOL.
Well I'm speaking only for myself but I was expecting to see shots of the new mom, or mom-to-be, the guests and shots of the event itself.

I'll admit I'm not sure how these things are run, though, since I'm mortally terrified of babies... Maybe the hens shoo'ed out the rooster before things got started?

I have pictures of the whole event but honestly its over 180. Lawrence basically a baby shower event is where a bunch of people gather and give gifts to the expecting mother for the baby. They play different baby shower games ( Google them) and eat food. So basically it's a party for the child before it's arrival

I see it (along with the bridal showers) as another reason to have a big party and get presents. Prior to both of my kids births, I was told to get lost so the ladies could enjoy themselves. When my grandkids were on the way, the father's to be were encouraged to join in the celebrations. I was told to get lost for those too. Do you think it was coincidence or do you think they just wanted me out of the way?

I think I can beat the lot of you. Was talking to a professional photographer here in France who was telling us that he is getting lots of work taking photos of pregnant mums. Great I thought another avenue for me to look at. He then stated that a high percentage of these ladies also wanted him to photograph the birth as they did not think their hubbies would be up to it. I think I might give that a miss:ambivalence:

I'm hedging my bet that they wanted you out of the way.....but they probably didn't think you really wanted to be there anyway! No big deal...they had fun, and you might have gone golfing.

I was present for the birth of both of my children. They are now 30 and 35 so I was one of the early fathers to be in the delivery room. The fist one we had to travel 60 miles to a different city and hospital that would allow me to be in the delivery room. It is not as bad as most people think. It is actually quite beautiful. There are ways to shoot that are not graphic and done correctly I think it can be something for a mom and dad to be proud of and want to show to family and friends. The only drawback I can see is that sometimes labor can go on for 12 hours or more. You would definitely have to have a signed contract for the fee plus an hourly rate plus a contingency fee for a baby no-show. You time is valuable.

Yes I too thought to see a bunch of women around the expecting mother. But wasn't surprised to see what was posted.
