Hey guys I dont normally enter photo competitions but I just got this sent to me from a friend and am wondering if those in the know of copyright etc can have a look and tell me if its worth it. Just noticed it costs money to enter.

This pretty much sums it up:

WCA will have a non-exclusive license to use the winning entries for a period of five years from January 1 2014. The entrant continues to hold copyright of the entry during and after this period.

So they just license the image(s) from you for a period of time for their non-exclusive use. That means you will still always be the copyright holder and can still use the images for your own purposes or license to other parties.

I would push you to go for it..
the exposure (no pun intended) will really be good for you and you can learn tons
