Hi all,

I'm a new member (4/6) and glad to be here.

I have both a lavalier mic and a Shure directional mic I bought for doing video.

Does anyone have any experience using a Zoom H4n digital recorder with there D7000 or know where I can get some info whether it's possible and whether it can attach to the camers.

If not, any suggestions for a good sterreo mic that mounts on the hotshoe, $150-200 mic.

Thanks all and glad to be a part of this forum

Yes... there are several videos on YouTube that demonstrate using the Zoom H4n recorder with DSLrs... There's a Sescom -25db cable that connects the Nikon camera's Mic input to the H4n and then uses the H4n's mics and of course, records to the H4n giving you two copies of audio... one in the camera's data and one in the H4n

For the type of Mics on the H4n, it's hard to beat the quality without spending the equivalent of what your D7000 cost, but it's a magnitude better that the built-in mics on the cameras...
