This is a very cool piece of technology. The intro video states 14 MP images.

I just remember a 5MP description in the video. Could be, and making it even more viable for all sorts of things. Maybe that's the still image resolution during video shoots? Or maybe it's a leftover from the "GearPro" (fake Go Pro) cam I saw on Woot.com this morning? That's what I get for posting early. LOL

I'm intrigued by this.

Tapp'n on the go

I am as well. The thing that I can't seem to find is whether or not the software is bundled with the device, or is it something that needs to be purchased separately? When I read a quote like, "The true innovation of the bublcam is it’s software that allows a single, 4 quadrant multiplexed image to be stitched into a sphere. We utilize a heat mapped blending process in order to blend the final photos and videos. These are what we like to call digital bubls. Bubls can also be separated from the multiplex into individual photos or videos and stitched into standard equirectangular format. This allows for spherical development and playback from other stitching applications.", and don't see anything, anywhere about software availability then I get a bit concerned that a hardware purchase will involve additional software purchases. I've pinged the guy who posted the Kickstarter. I can see all sorts of uses for this.

Got a response from the folks at Bubl in response to the software question:

Great question!! Some times when you are so close or immersed in something, what appears to be intuitive is in fact not. The software will come with the camera. Everyone will be able to view the footage using the software that plays through the web. There will be an app for IOS that can be downloaded to be utilized on your iphone and ipod. This will then be followed by an app for the Android platform.

Thanks for your support.

My husband uses an Android app on his cell phone to do 360 pictures already- they are not worthy of being called professional, but his boss is using them on his constructions website and they look great.
