It gets little attention since everyone is using LR or others but Nikon soft can do a decent first edit and the advantage is you'll always have the Nikon colors right. It will always render your RAW accurately since only Nikon knows how to correctly read and convert it. The other editors use an own interpretation of your cam profiles and NEF. Not that such does lead to worse results.</blockquote>
