Message: <blockquote data-quote="BackdoorArts" data-source="post: 272589" data-attributes="member: 9240">In the States there would be rails, fences and signs all in the name of protecting ourselves from ourselves.  Legislative will always trumps natural beauty here.  Pitty.  I long for a people who exhibit enough common sense not to tempt fate, and know enough to call it stupidity and not public neglect when the tragedy happens.  I recently went back to Ithaca, NY for the first time in years and found they'd fenced in many/most of the gorges that surround the town since local college kids (Cornell U and Ithaca College) will occasionally use the gorge as a last leap when school doesn't work out so well.  So, now the view is gone, money is spent, and kids still manage to climb fences.  Here's to places where common sense prevails, and some lovely photos!!</blockquote>
