its not a surprise to see these models being phased out
they are already over due for replacement
the only thing that kept this model and its older sibling the D300 still being on the market for so long

works for me...phasing out = price drop... I just ordered a new D300s...cant wait.

Its sad to hear that Nikon is replacing a great camera already though I expected it would happen not just this soon. I for one love my D300s & will keep it as I don't need any replacement, then again I am not a professional who needs upgrades constantly to keep pace with newer technology.Jdeg - the replacement on the D300s has a lot of proving to do, specially replacing one of the icons of Nikon DSLR.

The D90s is non existent and thus needs no replacement.

Why does anyone think that the D7000 is the replacement for the D90? When Nikon replaces a model production on the old one stops. The D90 is still in production.

You are right Joseph and I should have worded that differently....ithe D7000 is NOT a replacement for the D90, but it is basically an improved version of the D90.
