[QUOTE="STM, post: 126759, member: 12827"] These don't really belong in portrait but it is close enough. These images are from a show the KHH had in Beulah, FL, a stone's throw from here, during their annual Beulah Sausage Fest. Each year the Beulah Volunteer Fire Department hosts a 2 day event complete with carnival rides, horse shows and of course music. I have known all the KHH guys for several years now, thanks to a long lasting and very dear friendship I have with Ricky Lee Phelps, their one time lead singer (the guy in the black shirt and glasses). Ricky did a couple of songs with the guys tonight for old time's sake. Doug Phelps, the bass player, is Ricky's younger brother. Fred Young, the drummer is one of the biggest characters I have ever met. I guess it is a drummer thing because both being drummers we get along like two peas in a pod! They are all terrific musicians and really wonderful guys. 2 Grammy's and 5 gold records kind of speaks for itself! Everything was shot with the D700 @ ISO 800. Exposure was 1/100 sec @ f/4. I used my 300mm f/2.8 ED-IF on a monopod, and the rest, the 180mm f/2.8 ED, 105mm f/1.8 and 85mm f/1.4 AIS Nikkors hand held. All of the closeup stuff was with the 300mm and 180mm lenses.
