I was wondering if anyone has ever used this Tripod or knows someone who has if so is it any good.I'm not looking to invest a ton into a Tripod I won't be using all the time so I figured this one looks not to bad.

Yeah, I have that tripod. It's nice... Not as stable as my much heavier, sturdier Manfrotto 'pod but "The Tripod of the Beast" will get the job done if conditions permit. As with most things, it's a trade-off of form vs. function. The form makes it much more likely to be taken to begin with, but it's no Manfrotto 055X PROB meaning it won't buck the wind as well and you may need to give it a second to "settle" before dropping the shutter. Be prepared to use the delay timer, perhaps, in less than ideal conditions. Still, build quality is quite good and it converts quickly to a pretty useable monopod (which I like a great deal).

In short, it's a very GOOD tripod. Not a GREAT tripod.

It will not knock your socks off but it works well and it's very, very convenient.

I really like the idea of it converting to a monopod as well,I find some of the stuff from China that they knock off more less and other feature's is sometimes a lot more clever then other stuff.

I can imagine if another Tripod Manufacturer made a model that had the quick convert to a Monopod feature they would double the price when it would cost a few bucks more to ad the feature in to their design.

It reminds me a lot of the Dolica. I believe Don has one. Good price, though, for the one you're looking at. I use a Manfrotto myself for the heavy duty work, and a Hi-Ace for lighter stuff. I have 4 tripods, all having their own purpose in life. :)

I have that tripod and have had good luck with it for travel and hiking. The head is pretty solid, and the fact that you can turn it into a monopod is very handy too. I took some good long exposure pictures on a trip to San Diego using it and they were sharp. I think it is a good choice for times when a full size tripod is to big or too heavy to take with you. I would recommend keeping it as low to the ground as possible to get the shot you want. The longer you make the legs the less sturdy it becomes.

I just received mine today. For the money, I just don't think this can be beat. It is pretty solid and well constructed. This thing has ZERO problems holding my D7000 with my Tamron 200-400. The ball head locks into place real good. No kind of movements at all.
I only used it for a fairly short time so more testing needs to be done. But for now, this thing is a winner!
